Old War Office (OWO)

In the heart of OWO, a place where history and heritage meet, our Glacier Collection was born. Inspired by the majestic fragments of icebergs that float silently in the frigid waters, each piece in this collection tells a story of preservation and endurance, much like the ice that encapsulates the secrets of ages past.

The Old War Office (OWO) Building, located in London, is a historic structure with a significant legacy. Completed in 1906, this Edwardian Baroque-style building served as the heart of Britain's military command. During its operational years, the OWO played a crucial role in both World Wars. Notably, it was the workplace of Sir Winston Churchill during critical periods of his illustrious career.

OWO, an iconic venue steeped in historical significance, has been the silent witness to some of the most pivotal decisions of 20th-century Great Britain. The echoes of momentous events resonate through its halls, reminding us of a time when the course of a nation was shaped within its walls.

The Glacier Collection draws a parallel between the timeless elegance of icebergs and the enduring legacy of OWO. Just as glaciers lock away fragments of history within their crystalline structures, preserving them for future generations to uncover, OWO serves as a guardian of Britain’s rich historical tapestry.

This collection was crafted in the renowned "Crystal Valley" of the Czech Republic, a region famous for its centuries-old tradition of handblown glass. Each item is then more than just a work of art; it is a bridge between the past and the timeless traditions of glassmaking craftsmanship.

This project is a collaboration with HBA Residential and Westminster Development Services (WDS), with photography by Patrick Williamson.
